A tip for those of you wanting to start your own: you may want to contact a local Linux User Group in your area and just ask if there are any openSUSE users interested in joining you for a party. There may be some that aren't up to speed with what's going on in the project.

Nothing near me (I live near San Francisco), so maybe I'll just have to make one! :)

Nothing in Czech republic :'-( Exactly I don't know about any release party and Florida is far, far away for a short trip. :-/ But I still hope, there will be a party somewhere in Europe, close to east side of Czech republic. :-)

I use openSUSE since version SuSE Linux 6.3 :-) I frequently bring my private laptop running openSUSE 10.3 to my workplace, so some of my collegues saw what a modern Linux distribution can do and are willing to move from Windows XP to openSUSE 11.0.
Therefore, I am throwing a private installfest at my house on the 21th of june. 5 New collegues will join me and bring their machines to install openSUSE 11.0. To support me, another Linux-experienced friend of mine will join me to help and make the newbies experience as good as possible. :-)

Greets,
